US Buffalo 1 oz Gold Coin

The enduring imagery of the American Buffalo and Native American leader, as designed by sculptor James Earle, are printed on 99.99% fine gold, treated with the same natural rough finish as the original Buffalo Nickel, which was minted from 1913 to 1938. The face value, weight and purity are printed on the reverse, underneath the American Buffalo, while the year is found on the face of the coin next to the likeness of the Native American chief.

The American Buffalo Gold Coin was the first ever 24-karat gold coin to be released by the United States Mint, adding even more history to this famous coin. There are only a limited number issued each year.
